Two goals from Dougie Freedman and one from Tommy Black gave Palace a comfortable win against Cheltenham last night. Palace fell behind in the first period, before Freedman equalised almost immediately. Further goals saw Palace run out winners, but manager Trevor Francis will be worried that the strikers missed a hatful of chances, and a repetition against stronger opposition will lead to dropped points in the long season ahead.
Meanwhile, speculation continues to grow that Francis is contemplating a swap deal involving Dougie Freedman and Ipswich forward Richard Naylor plus some cash in Palace's direction.
