Palace reserves chalked up a 3-1 win against their Millwall counterparts on Wednesday night, despite being reduced to ten men in the first half.
Defender Glen Wilson was sent off after just over half an hour for two bookable offences, but it didn’t deter the reserves from a deserved victory.
Gareth Williams underlined his claims for a first team run-out with a well-taken brace of first half goals – one scored from the penalty spot – to give Palace a 2-0 lead at half time. The first period was also noteworthy for a 45-minute appearance from Shaun Derry as he started his recovery from injury.
Palace went further ahead in the second half with a goal from trialist (and former Arsenal player) Jermaine Brown. And despite a late consolation for the Lions, the victory was assured.
