West Ham boss Alan Pardew has confirmed he is likely to make a move for Andrew Johnson during the January transfer window.
Newspaper reports over the weekend linked AJ with a move to Upton Park, and Pardew has agreed his side could do with a player of Johnson’s ability.
"It is no secret that we will be in the market for a top-quality player when the transfer window opens next month," said Pardew.
"Andy Johnson certainly falls into that category and, should he become available, then we would be very interested as, I imagine, other clubs would be as well."
If a deal for AJ were to be struck with the Hammers, it would likely include a player coming the other way. That could see the resurrection of the Bobby Zamora deal that fell through for Palace last season.
