Sandor Torghelle has signed a three-year contract with Greek side PAOK Salonika, just weeks after stating his aim to fight for a place in the Palace side.
It had seemed Torghelle might get a second chance at Palace under new boss Peter Taylor. However, despite several appearances in the pre-season friendlies, it quickly became clear that the Hungarian frontman did not feature in Taylor's plans.
The move appears to have been triggered because Torghelle was on loan at Panathanaikos last season.
The loan deal included an option for the Greek side to buy, which they seem to have invoked in order to use Torghelle as a makeweight in a deal with PAOK that has seen striker Dimitrios Salpigidis move the other way.
