Play-off hero Neil Shipperley is on his way out of Selhurst Park after being told he no longer features in manager Iain Dowie’s plans.
The 30-year-old striker notched the winning goal in the 2004 play-off final, but hardly got a look in during last season’s Premiership campaign. Injury problems and the 4-5-1 formation both conspired to limit him to just three appearances all season.
"I met Iain Dowie and he said I'm not in his plans for next season," Shipperley told the South London Press.
"I've not asked to go, but I think it's best if I do. It's fair to say my future at Palace is over."
