Veteran keeper Shaka Hislop is set to sign a permanent deal with Palace after enjoying a successful pre-season trial.
The 36-year-old former West Ham and Newcastle stopper is looking for a club after being released by Portsmouth during the close season.
He has impressed in Palace’s friendly games so far, playing 45 minutes in matches against both FK Teplice and Eintracht Frankfurt.
"Shaka has done well, of course," Palace assistant boss Neil McDonald told the South London Press.
"He made a penalty save against Frankfurt and looked assured, so we are quite happy with his two performances. We'll train him hard again this week and see what happens.
"He's still a top class keeper, would be a benefit to the team and a good addition. We'll sit down and talk to him this week and take it from there."
It’s still unclear whether Hislop would arrive as cover for current number one Gabor Kiraly, or whether his potential arrival signals Kiraly’s imminent departure.
