The boss was far from impressed with his back line as Palace went down 3 - 1 at home to Reading last night.
"I don't enjoy losing - I've still gone in to see the ref tonight and tried to educate him, they were conning fouls" said Warnock.
"Goals change games and you can't legislate for schoolboy defending. If we defend like that we won't beat anybody."
Royals boss Brian McDermott was obviously a far happier man.
"We knew it was a big game because of where it could put us in the table and I'm pleased with our performance because this is a tough, tough place to come," he said.
"Churchy got two goals but the whole squad stepped up tonight - our resolve was excellent.
"We're proud as a group of our run but the players are the ones who have to play and compete - and they are playing some good football too."
