Post match reaction. It's all about Victor

Palace boss Neil Warnock said: "What can you say that I've not said before? I look at the top of the Premiership and think there must be something wrong if they do not come down (to look at him).

"I think the others have missed out. He's finally clicked because he is doing the mucky bits of football now.

"He's doing the hard graft and you cannot get anywhere without doing that. When I was a young lad I used to watch Ian Rush working his socks off.

"It doesn't matter who you are, you have to work hard and then your ability will come through.

"He's been playing well for months. He scored two goals at Reading two weeks ago that were not dissimilar.

"He is now tackling back - he will remember me in years to come when I am asking him for tickets.

"I look at the result of the top lads in the Premiership and you cannot tell me he would not get in their sides.

"I would pay money to watch Victor at the moment. He's got it in his locker this lad."

Barnsley manager, Mark Robins, admitted his side were fortunate to emerge from the match with a draw.

He said: "I'm happy with the point because it is the worst game I have looked at in a long time.

"If we were on the front foot from the first minute we could have won the game, but we weren't. We struggled to cope with Alan Lee's threat in the air for a long time.

"It was a nothing game and ended up petering out. A point at the end of it is brilliant because we are conceding some really poor goals and need to stop that.

"The conditions did not help and we had to make some last ditch challenges because we did not show the right energy levels."
