Injury has restricted Bennett to just 13 appearances for Forest during the last two seasons.
Meanwhile Palace striker Sean Scannell, 19, faces up to six months on the sidelines with a knee injury.
Bennett returned to action in March this year following 14 months out with a knee ligament injury.
He signed a one-year extension to his contract with Forest in the same month.
