Crystal Palace will get to play their friendly against Internazionale on Wednesday night after the Italian club’s chairman Giacinto Facchetti confirmed their pre-season tour of England is back on.
Inter had earlier announced their four warm-up games against Palace, Norwich, Leicester and Portsmouth would be scrapped because of fears about security in the UK after the recent terrorist attacks.
The decision met widespread condemnation from the affected English clubs, with Palace chairman Simon Jordan branding it ‘weak and pathetic’.
But Facchetti has now stated the Italian giants will travel to England after all.
"I can confirm that the team will leave to honour the commitments made with the English organisers," he told the club's official website.
