Crystal Palace defender Lee Hills is confident he can secure a regular place in boss Neil Warnock's starting XI. The 19-year-old has been forced to be patient as he waits for a chance to prove he is the long-term answer to Palace's left-back problem, following the sale of Josi Fonte to Southampton last week. Warnock had already hinted that he was ready to start with Hills last Saturday against Bristol City, only for Palace's game against the Robins to fall foul of the freezing weather conditions sweeping the UK. Hills told the South London Press: "The boss did tell me he was going to start with me on Saturday and hopefully now I can show people what I can do. I want to grab it with both hands. "You could say that Josi has been our most consistent defender - he has played a lot of games and rarely gets injured. I think he was under-rated by some people. "I can understand his decision to move to a stable club with good facilities. Palace will miss him. I wish him all the best but it could open the door for me."
