Geoff Thomas is hoping to rewrite history by recreating Palace’s 1990 FA Cup Final against Manchester United.
The former Palace captain has got both teams to agree to take part in the match, which is likely to be staged sometime in March.
The managers from the original game, Steve Coppell and Alex Ferguson, have both agreed to lead the teams out for the benefit game, which will be in aid of leukaemia charities.
Thomas was captain of the Palace side for the final, which went to a replay after an amazing 3-3 draw. United, of course, won the replay.
"I've asked players from both sides and they are all willing to do it," Thomas told the South London Press. "Palace have been fantastic and they're going to help put it on."
"Alex Ferguson and Steve Coppell have agreed to lead out both teams. Let's see if we can get the turnstiles ticking. It's captured my imagination and it'll be great to get revenge against them."
