Dougie Freedman has ended speculation over his future after agreeing a new two-year deal with Palace.
The 30-year-old striker had been linked with a move away from Selhurst Park after struggling to establish himself in the side since Iain Dowie’s arrival at the club.
But the Scot has made no secret of his desire to stay and fight for his place in the Eagles side, and his perserverance has been rewarded with a new contract.
"I'm very delighted to sign. I always wanted to re-sign but didn't think the opportunity would be there," Freedman told the South London Press.
"But the manager spoke very highly of me which was very encouraging and I think the world of him and Crystal Palace, where I’m very attached. So to say I'm delighted is an understatement.
"My happiest times have been at Palace and hopefully I'll continue to be happy. I feel very at home playing in a Palace shirt and hopefully that won't change."
