Easter became rookie boss Freedman's first signing since taking over at Selhurst Park when he joined from MK Dons late last week.
Palace are still rooted in the bottom three ahead of Saturday's clash with Bristol City but Easter has already seen enough to suggest they can climb the table.
"Obviously it's a big club with a lot of history and it is an opportunity to play Championship football for a young, fresh manager and I am looking forward to the challenge," the striker told the Croydon Guardian.
"We are in a difficult patch at the moment but I am sure there is enough quality in the dressing room to get out of it."
