Rumours are rife that Palace manager Iain Dowie could announce his departure from the club next week.
The South London Press reports a Selhurst Park insider saying they "wouldn't be surprised" if Dowie were to call time on his tenure as boss, after seeing the Eagles fail to win promotion back to the Premiership.
According to the club insider, Dowie has called a staff meeting for Monday morning.
The former Oldham boss has been heavily linked with a number of Premiership clubs – and the vacancies at Charlton and Middlesbrough could both prove tempting to him.
Indeed, according to reports, outgoing Middlesbrough boss Steve McClaren has listed Dowie as the man he would most like to see take over the helm at the Riverside.
Should Dowie leave, he would be likely to take a significant chunk of the Palace squad with him.
Star striker Andrew Johnson is already expected to depart during the close season and would be keen to follow Dowie into the Premiership.
Other key players such as Fitz Hall and Ben Watson could also follow suit.
