Crystal Palace are on track to pip Premier League rivals Aston Villa and West Ham to the signing of Said Benrahma.
Following their failure to secure promotion last season, Brentford have been left in the unfortunate position of boasting a number of first team players wanted by top flight clubs.
Ollie Watkins has already left for Aston Villa, while 90min revealed goalkeeper David Raya is wanted at Arsenal. Algerian Benrahma looks set to be the next to swap west London for elsewhere, although the most recent update suggests it won't be a a geographically long move.As per The Sun, Palace have moved ahead of Aston Villa and West Ham in the race to sign the forward, who scored 17 goals and assisted a further nine in 43 league matches last season. Given his fine form, the 25-year-old has made it clear he wants to play in the Premier League and is said to be happy to stay in the London area.
If he is to join, then it raises questions - as if there weren't any already - about the future of Wilfried Zaha. The Ivorian has been perennially linked with a move away, declaring publicly that it is his wish to play in Europe this season.
He scored the only goal as the Eagles secured an opening day victory over Southampton, but with his replacement seemingly en route, it could indicate that a summer destination for Zaha may have been found already. Either that, or Andros Townsend isn't fancied by Roy Hodgson. Could be both, in truth.
Hodgson admitted after the Southampton game that Zaha still hopes to secure a move to a bigger club.
Zaha might not be the only player who could be on the way out of Selhurst Park this window, as it's added in the report that Belgian side Club Brugge are also keen to bring in Christian Benteke on a deal worth around £10m.
