Clarke's season is over

Clarke has damaged knee ligaments and was told that the only way he was going to cure the problem was to undergo an operation.

However, as a result of this operation Clarke now faces missing the rest of the Eagles first division campaign.

Clarke was injured earlier in the season and Palace boss Trevor Francis has extended Greek international Nic Michopoulos' loan spell from Burnley for another two months.
