Crystal Palace manager George Burley was able to look to the future with optimism after seeing his side confound the doubters to register a thrilling 3-2 win against Leicester. A summer of financial uncertainly was pushed to one side in 90 enthralling minutes as last season's play-off semi-finalists were put to the sword in the first half at Selhurst Park. Strikes from 17-year-old striker Wilfried Zaha, Darren Ambrose and Alan Lee did the damage, although goals from Andy King and DJ Campbell saw the Foxes come close to achieving a memorable fightback. Burley was left in no doubt that, with talents such as Zaha on the books, Palace can more than hold their own this season. He said: "It was a cracking game. We know Leicester are a top side and the first half was magnificent, but I also knew at half-time that it was not over. "Wilfried Zaha is a cracking prospect and we will give him the opportunity to keep on developing and he will be a big talent. We have some good youngsters here and some good professionals as well, so the atmosphere around the club has been great since I came in."
