Swedish hotshot Marcus Allback is set to leave Aston Villa, with Palace among the clubs leading the chase for his signature.
But the 30-year-old striker has reacted quickly to cool rumours that a move to Selhurst Park is already agreed.
"I definitely haven't spoken to Palace so suggestions that I'm on my way is news to me," Allback told the Evening Mail. "My agent has said there had been some contact between Palace and Villa, that's all."
Allback has fallen down the pecking order at Villa Park since the arrival of David O’Leary as manager, and is now looking for a move that would guarantee him first-team football.
"I have one year left at Villa, my family are settled but I cannot really have another season like the first two where I started just a handful of games and played another ten or 15 matches as a sub," he said.
"There is interest in me from Italy and from Holland from Feyenoord and also now from PSV Eindhoven, but I don't have anything concrete at the moment."
