AJ transfer race hots up

Andrew Johnson's future appears to lie at one of three Premiership clubs – Wigan, Everton or Bolton.

Those are the trio that are reported to have made £7m bids for the free-scoring forward, though it is thought Palace chairman Simon Jordan is holding out for more.

As a result, Wigan may be prepared to add skilful midfielder Damien Francis to their bid as a makeweight.

However, AJ is thought to favour the Everton move over the advances of Wigan and Portsmouth.
